Ugh, I'm sorry but I'm tired of having to be tolerant to people who willing choose to ignore facts. I get religion can help people but if you refuse to believe in proven facts, such as 2+2 = 4 and you rather say, no, it's 6059 because my religious says so, your just being willfully ignorant.

After 1900 Galveston flood they raised the entire city 17' and built a huge sea wall. They even raised several of the few historic buildings that remained by 17 feet. That was back BEFORE diesel tractors, they used steam powered pumps to pump dredge plus animals and human power back then. 2/3 of the area of Boston is fill, colonists wouldn't recognize it now. The seaport district and most of Logan are completely artificial - thanks to FF powered machinery.

TANGIERS ISLAND IS SINKING!!!! Land subsidence has been observed since the 1940s in the southern Chesapeake Bay region at rates of 1.1 to 4.8 millimeters per year (mm/yr), and subsidence continues today. SLR has not accelerated from higher CO2 so that's NATURAL too! Ignore these liars.

What does it matter what they believe in.eitherway, sea level rising or wave erosion, their island is gonna disappear in the coming decades.it's not like they can do anything about global climate change, but with the wave erosion theory, they at least have a hope, build a wall!!.good luck trying to get congress to send you millions for that wall.

Which scientic degree do you have? None, no, didn't think so. So maybe, just maybe, some people know better than you, and it's in your best interest to listen to them. Then if that fails, at some point, you've just got to give up on people. Some people need to lose eveything. They don't want to believe in facts, then don't force them.

Erosion happens anywhere water continually washes upon that surface. That's guaranteed to happen, but if the sea level hasn't rose in that amount of time they have been there then how could you possibly say it's because climate change. Im not saying climate change isn't a thing but it's not as big as people say it is. Nasa stated the earth has only changed 1 degree warmer on average since the 1900s. And hybrid cars are also a contributor to this small climate change. They create pollution to be made like most of everything else in this world. So you guys keep making the point that there is climate change but there is really nothing we can do to change it because we are in such a industrialized state.

It is sad that Mainstream Religion has taught people so many lies, and to the extent that the more extreme among them seem to think that Fracking, Drilling, Scraping, and Digging and just about anything else that ruins this beautiful earth is in harmony with God's will. They are so blind. I am a Christian, and I believe in what is Real..Climate change and the sea level rise it is causing is so EASY to see and measure that even a child can understand it. Here is the irony to it..the very Bible that so many deniers 'claim' to believe says at Revelation 11:18 that God will Bring to Ruin those who Ruin the Earth.. Yes, there are people who are Religious and believe in climate change, like Jehovah's Witnesses and some others. That is because they open their eyes and see the obvious, and it is Really obvious that this earth is being destroyed. This is our home, our Creators gift to us, and it should be treated with respect. There are so many clean energy sources, and enough to provide power to everyone on earth.

Maybe they don't want to accept climate change is real because it makes them feel helpless. Wave erosion has a solution they can work on directly. Climate change is vague, scary concept. To accept it is to accept that they're at the mercy of governments and large industries on a global scale. You're telling them the source of their problem is in Antarctica hundreds of thousands of miles away, caused by people they'll never meet. That's going to make them feel helpless to do anything about it.

God's work. God's work. So that's what Protestantism has become to: save your soul by working in the here and now, rather than putting things off till a Heavenly day, mutates to 'you're doing God's work. Just don't think too hard about when you want to eat.'

A believer in the cult of the end times will not concern themselves with problems of what they consider some mythical future. A future that will never concern them because god will solve it all and reward his solders on earth nicely. Indeed they believe that to do anything for the purpose of benefiting a future human race is akin to denying the existence of god and they will lose the light of Jesus and get squat.  This is the evil underpinning of the religious right's war on science.

If a drowning man refuses to be saved, if he fights you away from trying to pull him out of the water, if he bats away the life preserver, if he shoves off a SCUBA suit and he drowns and dies, is it a tragedy? Sure, I guess. It's a tragedy when a human life is lost. But if I were the one trying to save him, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

I know conservatives. Most of them are pretty good people. These people know she's right, but they don't want to admit that out loud. To them that would be like saying I renounce my faith which isn't what she's asking, but that's how they see it.
